Over the weekend we had the pleasure of talking with Queenie about her experiences and thoughts on all things Photo Booth. Queenie is the owner of Pic-cha-booth a Victorian photo booth operator who services Melbourne, Geelong, Warnambool, Ballarat, Frankston, Lakes Entrance, Horsham, Bendigo, Morwell, Shepparton, Mildura, Gippsland, Mallacoota, Wodonga and Wangaratta

When was the first time you can remember being in a photo booth?

The first time I could ever remember being in a photo booth was when I was 5 years old, and it was for a passport photo. It wasn’t very fun at all to be honest lol

Describe what you believe it is about photo booths which makes them so popular?

For me, they just really bring out the fun side in everyone, young and old. Every party has speeches, dancing, and food… but having a photo booth really brings that “wow” factor to any occasion, be it a corporate event, a wedding, a birthday, a school formal and what have you. Not only does it provide some extra entertainment for the guests, but also they get to keep a memory that will last a lifetime.

Is there one photo booth hire you have done that has stood out above all the rest and why?

It’s so hard to choose because they were all so amazing! I reckon the one that stood out really was the Awards Night we did for AMP Financial. They were our biggest client and the event was held at the River Room in Crown Towers. Did I mention we only just started a month before landing that gig? Talk about intimidating! We were so glad nothing went wrong, and the night went on without any issues. Whew! And the icing on the cake? We got a first class meal and a complimentary bottle of wine. Mind you we don’t expect that at any event but it came as a surprise, so it definitely was nice of them.

What do you believe it is about your photo booth hire business that sets it apart from your local competition?

Well I guess we do offer very competitive pricing to our services compare to the other companies out there. We want to cater for everyone in Victoria, to offer a good fun service without the inflated prices. Moreover, we have a very portable machine that folds up into a box. It’s 100% Australian Made, and is sleek and super modern. We also keep updating our props, as I am a self-diagnosed propaholic myself, we strive to have the best props in the industry. Apart from that, we have a green screen background just like in the movies! That means clients can choose any background they want, and we fully customise layouts to match any theme. Our machine does Video Messaging as well, which (along with the photos) can be uploaded to Social Media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter) as per the clients’ request. We also have cool inflatable booths that are perfect for outdoors (in good weather), not many photo booth operators offer that.

What's your best tip you can give someone who is considering hiring a photo booth for their important event?

Do your research. Most booths today offer really good deals. Make sure you find the right one for you (and your budget), and don’t forget to share the love and tell your friends if you hired a fantastic booth!

What's the funniest thing you have ever seen happen in a photo booth?

We were at a 21^st birthday and this guy had too much to drink. He puked all over his best mate and it was captured on one of the shots. It was hilarious!
